Check Fabric - Retter Workwear

Fabric Checking Process – Retter Workwear

At Retter Workwear, we believe that quality begins with fabric. Every flame-resistant (FR) coverall, industrial uniform, or healthcare lab coat we manufacture starts with rigorous fabric inspections. Our 7-step Fabric Checking Process guarantees that every roll of fabric meets international safety standards such as NFPA, ISO, and OEKO-TEX. By maintaining uncompromising quality at the fabric stage, we ensure that the final garment delivers comfort, durability, and superior protection.

Why Fabric Checking Matters

  • Safety Assurance: Certified FR fabrics are tested for flame resistance, heat insulation, and shrinkage control.
  • Durability: High-tensile fabrics ensure long-lasting industrial wear even under heavy use.
  • Healthcare Hygiene: We use antimicrobial and fluid-resistant fabrics to keep healthcare garments safe and comfortable.
  • Consistent Quality: Uniform fabric batches guarantee color fastness and dimensional stability.

Our fabric inspection minimizes risks of garment failure and ensures compliance with global safety regulations.

7-Step Fabric Checking Process

STEP 1
Incoming Fabric Verification

Every fabric roll undergoes a visual inspection for color consistency, surface defects, and weaving faults.

STEP 2
Dimensional Stability Test

We test the fabric’s shrinkage and stretch resistance under heat and washing conditions. This is crucial for FR coveralls that undergo frequent industrial laundering.

STEP 3
GSM (Weight) & Thickness Measurement

We measure the GSM (grams per square meter) and thickness to ensure each batch aligns with product specifications for durability and comfort.

STEP 4
Tear Strength & Tensile Testing

Industrial workwear demands tear-resistant fabrics. Our tensile strength test checks for resistance against rips and daily wear stress.

STEP 5
Color Fastness & Shade Matching

We conduct shade banding tests to maintain color uniformity across all garments. Special checks ensure FR dyes remain intact after repeated washes.

  • Side-by-side fabric swatches under color-matching light.

STEP 6
Flame Resistance & Thermal Protection Test

Every batch of FR fabric is checked for compliance with NFPA 2112, ISO 11612, and other flame-resistance standards. We simulate flash fire and radiant heat conditions.

STEP 7
Final Certification & Approval

Only fabrics that pass all tests receive our “Certified Quality” badge and move forward to garment production.

Graphic Idea:

  • Seal or stamp graphic reading “Certified Quality – Retter Workwear” on a fabric roll.
